Another busy week comes to a close. Thank you for a great board meeting on Monday night, and thank you for your service to the Hudson Community School District! We really are starting to wind down for the school year and look forward to graduation on Sunday. As a reminder, Baccalaureate is at 2:00, followed by graduation at 3:00. You should plan to meet in the little gym between 2:30 and 2:45 to line up for the processional. I anticipate the ceremony will be no more than an hour.
Tuesday evening Mr. Dieken and I attended the Gold Star reception with Nancy Uden (our 2017 Gold Star Teacher) and her husband at the President’s House at UNI. We look forward to the Gold Star Awards assembly next Tuesday evening at Gallagher Bluedorn.
Wednesday afternoon I sat in on the K-6 elementary professional development meeting where the teacher leadership team presented their proposal for personalized professional development for the 2017-2018 school year. I think this was very well received and look forward to sharing more about this with you at our June board meeting. I’ll recommend you read my blog article for this week for a few more details about #PPD.
Last night Mr. Dieken and I attended the River Hills graduation ceremony where we celebrated graduation with one of our students. River Hills is such a great school and we are very fortunate to have this option available for some of our students. Our attendance and inclusion in the ceremony for our Hudson students is always a highlight.
Today is Safety Day for grades K-6. A great year end activity, it provides our students with education on a variety of topics, such as ATV safety which is depicted in the photo above. The timeliness of our Safety Day is always planned and prepared in anticipation of the fun associated with summer, which is just over a week away! I know we all just wish the weather was a little warmer and dryer today!
Have a restful weekend, I look forward to seeing you on Sunday at 2:45!
