Happy Friday! I hope you all have been enjoying your first week of summer! It has been very busy here in the district!
Monday was a full day of professional development for the teachers, with our junior high and high school faculty beginning their personalized professional development journey in the morning and working on email migration in the afternoon. Meanwhile, our P-6 faculty was hard at work at Central Rivers AEA working on their balanced literacy initiative and math units. Teacher checkout began on Tuesday at noon. At this time all of our teacher have been checked out.
Our general contractor hit the ground running on Monday morning, and if you have driven by the school in the last couple of days, you should notice they already have some new windows installed. All of the ceilings are also down and the doorways have been removed. I hope they are able to maintain this pace, because if so they will be done ahead of schedule.
Yesterday we finished interviewing music teacher candidates and Mr. Schlatter is finalizing reference checks right now with a goal of having this position filled by the weekend before turning his attention to the open kindergarten slot. We appreciate your support for the music program insofar as agreeing to increase this FTE to .75. There is no doubt this helped with the recruitment of quality candidates. If all goes as planned, we hope to have all our teaching positions filled before the next board meeting.
That is all for now. Have an awesome weekend!
Dr. Anthony D. Voss, Superintendent
