As a first order of business this week congratulations are in order for Traci Trunck, Brenda Klenk, and Matt Sallee. All three were elected to the Board of Directors on Tuesday evening. I am very excited to be working with you and look forward to seeing everyone on Monday evening! At the same time we welcome Matt and Brenda, we thank Jerry Griffith and Liz Folladori for their service. A couple of things that you will need to be aware of for Monday night: we will be taking some photos, and you will need a calendar so we can coordinate schedules for our ABLE meeting.
I also wanted to remind you that we will have Senator Danielson attending our meeting on Monday evening, so if our retiring board members wish to stay through his visit you would be more than welcomed to do so. Remember, you were on the board when we set the legislative platform, so you are fully qualified to speak to these issues! For reference on our platform, please check out my blog.
This was a very busy week that included evaluation meetings with principals, interviewing and hiring a new custodian, and an administrative meeting! We also started work planning for phase 2 of the elementary renovation and closed out phase one of that project. One of the highlights of the week was my annual visit with the PTO on Tuesday evening. It is always great to have an opportunity to interact with our parents and volunteers!
The photo I am sharing today is from a first grade classroom where they are doing the ‘daily five’. In this quasi management/differentiation exercise students are divided into groups working on a variety of activities. You can see on the board in the background what those activities are and the students that are assigned to each group.
Have a wonderful weekend and I look forward to seeing you on Monday night!
