During the 2016-2017 school year the High School Industrial Tech dept was contacted about building a garden shed. Mr. Liekweg thought this would be a great opportunity for the Construction Trades class to learn about the building process. The class was given basic dimensions of the shed and a general idea of what it might look like. Students were given some flexibility through the design stage. The shed is 8′ wide and 12′ long and just over 10′ tall at the peak.
The brief slide show shows a quick progression of the shed as we spent a chunk of the second semester building it. The students had a great time and learned many new skills. Now with some basic tools and a set of plans they should be able to build their own sheds, someday at their own house.
The Industrial Tech department is interested in opportunities with a Tiny House project. If you’re interested in being involved through donations, expertise, or materials, please let Mr. Liekweg know. Keep a look out for the next building project.
