Journalism Students Travel to Texas

Twenty Hudson High School journalism students traveled to the national convention in Dallas November 15-19th.

The conference, hosted by the National Scholastic Press Association and Journalism Education Association, is the largest conference for high school journalists. This year students from 44 states and three countries came.

Aside from attending eight intense learning sessions taught by dozens of award-winning advisors and professionals in mass media, the students toured some of the city’s most notable attractions, including the Reunion Tower, the Dallas Zoo, and the Sixth Floor Museum at Dealey Plaza, site to the shooting of JFK.

In addition, Hudson students were one of three schools invited to attend a private editorial meeting at the Dallas Morning News, a publication which has won multiple Pulitzer Prizes.
