JUNIOR JOB SHADOW DAY IS FAST APPROACHING

JUNIOR JOB SHADOW DAY IS FAST APPROACHING

All of the juniors at Hudson Community School will be participating in a job shadow experience Wednesday, April 25th, 2018.  This day is designed for the students to create and take responsibility for their own learning experience.  The learning objectives for this day are for students to

1) investigate a career area of interest to them.

2) observe the daily operations of a professional in that career field.

3) to build a network with a professional in that line of work.

4) to assist them in making sound course and college decisions.

Prior to job shadowing

Students have been preparing for the last several weeks during seminar by writing an action plan that contains the name, contact information, date and time of their job shadow. Additionally, they are required to submit a signed parent/guardian permission form authorizing their student to take part in the job shadow.

Day of job shadowing

The day of the job shadow, students will be required to show up on time, be dressed appropriately, and conduct an interview with relevant questions to their job shadow.

Following the job shadow

Upon their return, the juniors are required to submit a reflection about their experience as well as write a hand written thank you note to the professional who took time out of their day to help educate our students.  We also contact the businesses and request that they complete a short questionnaire for our records.
