Premier Blood Partner Status-UPDATE!

Hudson National Honor Society has been recognized by the American Red Cross as one of its Premier Blood Partners for 2018, a prestigious honor, for its support of the community and national blood supply.

Last year, the National Honor Society helped the Red Cross collect over 160 blood donations! Every day, volunteer blood and platelet donors across the country are needed to help save lives. According to the Red Cross, blood and platelets are needed for accident and burn victims, heart surgery and organ transplant patients, and those receiving treatment for leukemia, cancer or sickle cell disease, according to the Red Cross.

“We are proud to be a part of the Red Cross mission that helps ensure lifesaving blood is available for all those in need,” said adviser, Dawn Frye.

HOPE BEGINS WITH YOU

At the February 8th blood drive, thirty two units of life saving blood were collected! Thank you to the many volunteers who helped by donating baked goods, helping with registration, monitoring the cantine area and helping with clean up! It was a great success especially considering the impending severe winter weather and the cold and flu season.  Special recognition goes out to the four student leaders who helped organized the drive – Cameron Fulcher, Zach Buzynski, Jacob Myers and Jacob Murray.

The next Red Cross blood drive is April 16th and will be held at the Hudson Community Center.
