Hudson CSD to Hold Grand Opening for Renovated High School Facility
HUDSON, IA — The Hudson Community School District will host a grand opening for its renovated high school building and new addition on Wednesday, November 13, at 4:00 p.m., with community members encouraged to attend.
Planning for the project began in January 2022, when Hudson CSD formed a community task force to evaluate the district’s current and future facility needs. Based on the task force’s recommendations, an $11.65 million bond issue was placed on the September 2022 ballot to support the high school renovation project.
Following the voter-approved bond issue, construction started in the summer of 2023. The high school renovations were completed in time for the start of the 2024-25 school year, and the new addition is now finished.
“We’re excited to celebrate the completion of this long-anticipated, important project alongside our community,” said Dr. Tony Voss, Superintendent of Hudson Schools. “Virtually every inch of the existing building has been renovated, and the new state-of-the-art addition brings even more to our school. We are incredibly grateful for our community’s support and investment through the bond measure, and we look forward to showing everyone the results.”
The grand opening will begin at noon with the school hosting the regular meeting of the Chamber of Commerce. At 3:00 p.m., members of the community task force will receive a private tour of the facility. The ribbon-cutting ceremony will take place at 4:00 p.m. at the front entrance, followed by student-led tours and refreshments.
The renovated high school and new addition are located at 8009 Hudson Road in Hudson, Iowa. Please refer to this link for a copy of our invitational flyer.
